Why do we say heartache and heart break ----is it really our heart that feels this emotion?

Our heart doesn't feel emotion. In fact, our heart is just a muscle, just like any other in your body, but the strongest and most important of all of them. But this is actually a recent discovery (relatively). Throughout time, thousands of civilizations have believed that the heart is the center of feeling. Maybe because without it, you die. I'm not entirely sure. An example? The ancient egyptians, in their mummification process, would keep the heart in a jar adorned with the face of their most important god. The brain, however, was thought of as a useless organ, and thrown out.
