Pulled a muscle in my throat, how long till it heals?

i was brushing my tounge this morning and heaved at one point and pulled something in my throat , it didnt hurt for about an hour then throughout the day the pain has gotton worse, it is very painfull now and hurts to eat and swallow,im putting ice on my throat now, does anyone know how long this takes to cam down , its so painfull.
