Does this situation happen often for police?

I read in the paper the other day that the police had a warrant for a man's arrest so they found out where he lived and his wife answers asking where her husband was and they had a warrant for him, she showed the officers where her husband was: in an urn on her mantle. The man had died prior to the warrant being issued and was subsequently cremated. The wife showed the officers the death certificate,and all other doents proving that those were his remains and he had indeed died. I was wondering does this happen often out of curiousity
