Why do some people like to ignore half of the bible?

People have been using the bible and other religious "guidelines" to meet their own agenda. I suggest staying away from the subject or if you really want to confront it be strong and have your argument prepared...wear a pride flag pin if you wanna put a cherry on top :P.
