How should i ask him out?

Well, i've had my eye on this one guy, since about november.... (pathetic i know) but i cant stand not being with him! We talk every now and then, b ut we make eye contact across rooms, and when he is sitting behind me in homeroom... I think im going to go for it, but he doesnt even know i like him, whats the best way to ask him out?
